Nature Adventure offers an exceptional horseback tour for those who want to make the most of their vacation time in Costa Rica. More than a horseback ride, you are welcomed as part of our family to get a glimpse
of Costa Rican life and learn about the tropical rainforest as you ride through it. Our paths are located 10 miles from Quepos / Manuel Antonio,
in the foothills of the Cerro Nara Mountains. We offer full day and half day tours for your convenience in planning your vacation schedule. Both tours include meals, as well as
transportation to and from your hotel.
Our guides are fully bilingual and knowledgeable about the local
wildlife, vegetation and ecosystems.
They will also gladly answer any question you may have about Costa Rican lifestyle, culture and history.
Both tours are suitable for all ages, from "never rode a horse before" beginners to experienced riders. Small children (i.e. under 4 years old) can ride with their parents. Children over 4 years will get small, tame horses that can be led, if desired, by a mounted parent or guide as we ride. Our horses are safe,
well-mannered mounts. They are well-fed, healthy horses; eager to please. We have a large number of horses and rotate them so they are always fresh and ready for your tour.
Horse Back Riding
Full Day
After a full typical Costa Rican breakfast, we mount up and ride
into the Cerro Nara Mountains through lush rainforest. There is a lot
of wild life in this unspoiled area. We may be able to see monkeys,
sloth, anteaters, tepescuintle, jaguarondi and other small mammals, as
well as exotic birds and butterflies.
After about 1 ½ hours of riding, we come to an awesome 350-foot
waterfall. Here we dismount and relax at our comfortable rancho in the
rainforest which also has a modern sanitary restroom/changing room.
The rancho overlooks a large crystal clear natural swimming pond in the
river. Enjoy swimming here as well as at the waterfall, taking photos and
snacking on fresh tropical fruit. The return ride down the mountain is
just as beautiful and adventure-filled, and when we return you're
treated to a hearty Tico-style lunch, all beverages included, in a
relaxed family atmosphere.
Duration: 7 hours.
Location: Near the community of Londres, on the base of the Protected Zone of the Cerro Nara, 30 minutes driving from Quepos.
Schedule: Pick up at 7:30 a.m. Return to hotel at: 5:00 p.m.
Included: Transportation, breakfast, authentic traditional lunch, additional refreshments and fresh fruits, bilingual interpretive guides with a great deal of experience in horse tours and of course, the horse and all necessary gear.
We suggest: Hiking shoes, hat, long pants, repellent, bathing suit and towels and camera.
